Quilter has added three new investment directors to its team as it looks to provide further support to financial advisers with its investment solutions.
Ryan Medlock and Filippo Madonia both join from Royal London, while Nick Davison has arrived from Liontrust.
Medlock was most recently a senior investment development manager at Royal London, where he worked closely with advisers to provide technical support, as well as providing external insight into the development of the investment proposition there.
Madonia, meanwhile, worked for Royal London’s asset management arm as a business development manager with responsibility for building the brand amongst financial advisers and discretionary fund managers in Scotland. He has also carried out similar roles for the likes of M&G, Prudential and Friends Provident.
Finally, Davison was a regional sales manager for Liontrust, working across the North of England and Northern Ireland promoting Liontrust’s multi-asset and sustainable fund ranges. A former financial adviser, Davison has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry having previously worked for the likes of HSBC, RBS, Architas and Axa.
All three will report into lead investment director, Andy Miller and be responsible for promoting Quilter’s investment solutions, such as the WealthSelect Managed Portfolio Service and the Cirilium portfolio range, to advisers and external audiences, helping them with any queries they may have about the investments and the key drivers of performance.
The hires follow a highly successful year for Quilter’s investment solutions in a challenging market. As it approaches its ten-year anniversary in February, WealthSelect has achieved asset growth of 28% according to Next Wealth’s latest MPS Proposition Comparison Report. Meanwhile, within the Cirilium range, Cirilium Blend approaches its five-year anniversary in July and has so far amassed assets in excess of £2.6bn.
Quilter Investors has been expanding its investment communication capabilities of late. In November it hired Lindsay James to the newly created role of investment strategist where she represents the firm’s investment views externally with advisers, clients and the media.
Andy Miller, lead investment director at Quilter, said: “We are delighted to be bringing on three talented, highly experienced and well-respected individuals who have deep ties in the financial planning community across the UK. Ryan, Fillipo and Nick all have the skillset to communicate clearly with advisers, support them with regards to their investment advice process, and provide quality market insights so we are constantly improving our offering for advisers.
“With Consumer Duty now firmly embedded into the industry, it is vital that advisers are given the tools and support required in order to communicate their value to clients, and have faith that the investments will deliver.
“As the investment environment changes, Quilter is exceptionally well positioned to assist advisers, and we are really excited about what this year will bring for our portfolios. I look forward to my team working closely with advisers to help showcase how we are taking advantage of this.”
