Quilter, the wealth manager and financial adviser, has announced today that it is making a one-off payment to employees to help ease the strain of increased cost of living.
All employees earning under £50,000 will receive a one-off payment of £1,200 in this month. Approximately 1,800 (60%) of its workforce of 3,000 people will benefit from the payment.
Quilter wants to help employees mitigate the impact of price rises given the difficult economic backdrop, with inflation in the UK forecast by the Bank of England to top 11% later this year.
Paul Feeney, CEO of Quilter, said:
“Our people have been magnificent in the past two years, digging deep to keep our services running for clients throughout the various lockdowns, with some continuing to come into our offices throughout the pandemic and many working in less-than-ideal conditions from home. People are now facing a new challenge with an acute cost-of-living crisis, and we want to offer them additional support. We know the payment will not fully mitigate rising food and energy costs, but we hope it will go some way to ease the strain.”
