The Quilter Foundation, the charity of wealth manager Quilter, is proud to have awarded a share of £23,000 to three local charities via its Local Community Fund.

The Quilter Foundation’s Local Community Fund offers grants of up to £10,000 to local charities nominated by Quilter employees and advisers. It supports the Quilter Foundation’s aim to improve the lives of over 100,000 young people with every pound raised up to £100,000 being matched by Quilter.

Following a careful deliberation process, three colleague nominated charities were selected by the Quilter Foundation and have been awarded a share of £23,000, including:

  • FareShare, Hampshire
  • GROW Jersey
  • Southampton City Farm

The selected charities support the physical and emotional wellbeing of young people and those communities most heavily impacted by the cost-of-living crisis across the UK and Jersey. This includes, but is not limited to, support for young people with special educational needs via a mental wellbeing project, and support for those experiencing food poverty through the provision of vital materials and equipment.

Beth Lloyd, head of responsible wealth management strategy at Quilter said:

“Being able to support local community charities through this fund is such an important part of The Quilter Foundation’s work. The Local Community Fund enables us to respond to the issues which mean most to our colleagues and the communities in which we operate. This is so important, especially in such hard times, and we are proud to have awarded a share of £23,000 to three excellent charities which are carrying out vital work to support people during the cost-of-living crisis.

“The Quilter Foundation continues to receive compelling nominations from colleagues for a range of worthwhile causes across the country, and we are pleased to have supported 14 charities with a share of £93,000 since the launch of the fund earlier this year. We cannot thank colleagues and advisers enough for their efforts to make this a success by taking the time to fundraise and nominate local charities.”

Claire Martin, regional manager at FareShare Southern Central said:

“We would like to thank the Quilter Foundation for the fantastic commitment to support FareShare Southern Central with a generous contribution towards our mobile larders. The cost-of-living crisis is placing significant pressure on those already struggling to feed themselves and their families, and this funding will mean FareShare Southern Central can reach communities and households directly with low-cost groceries and use this opportunity to connect them with other services to help address the causes of their hardship.”

Sheena Brockie, co-founder of GROW Jersey said:

“This significant contribution from the Quilter Foundation reinforces our belief in the Grow vision and the opportunities that the project will offer for community involvement in social and environmental causes. The project has sustainability at its core, with the community benefiting from organic and nutritious food production using regenerative land management practices which also improve biodiversity. The project also offers a connection to nature for people who have become socially or psychologically isolated; a ‘green lifeline’.”

Oasis Southampton City Farm said:

“Southampton City Farm is thrilled to receive a grant from the Quilter Foundation towards our community projects. The farm receives many requests for sessions from individuals and groups from marginalised and underrepresented groups, who do not always have funding available to support their needs. The Quilter Foundation grant will help continue the farms excellent work of supporting vulnerable individuals, but now we will be able to extend this offer to more of our community.”
