Quilter Cheviot has today announced the hire of Jarek Pominkiewicz and Tom Gilbey as equity research analysts.

Pominkiewicz joins the business from Jefferies where he covered the UK industrials sector with a focus on chemicals, auto suppliers and business services. He has also worked in equity research during his career at the likes of Berenberg and Deutsche Bank. A CFA charter holder, Pominkiewicz will be responsible for Quilter Cheviot’s equity research in the industrials sector.

Gilbey previously worked as an analyst at RWC Partners, now Redwheel, working across UK, European and global equity funds. Gilbey has experience across a range of sectors, including transport, retail and support services. At Quilter Cheviot he will be responsible for research in the commercial and professional services, transport and utilities sectors.

Both hires will report into Chris Beckett, head of equity research at Quilter Cheviot.

Quilter Cheviot’s research team spans the direct equity, bond and whole-of-market fund universes, giving its clients access to the firm’s best investment ideas. Its research capabilities mean it can incorporate investments that give clients a greater range of exposure than a ‘traditional’ collective funds-based approach.

Chris Beckett, head of equity research at Quilter Cheviot, said: “We are really excited to be bringing Jarek and Tom into our extensive research team at what is an interesting juncture in markets. Both bring excellent experience and knowledge and will really help bolster the research capabilities we already offer.

“With interest rates on the rise and inflation proving stubborn, never before has detailed equity research been more required for clients to help guide them through these uncertain times. Understanding how companies will navigate this challenging market and who is likely to succeed is how we can add real value for clients and ensure they have all the information about their investments that they need.”
