Quilter has today announced chief investment officer Marcus Brookes will take on the portfolio management duties of Quilter's Cirilium portfolios.
Effective immediately and on an interim basis, Brookes will join existing portfolio manager CJ Cowan in being a named manager on the Cirilium Active, Blend and Passive portfolios. Brookes has considerable experience in multi-asset portfolio management having managed multi-manager fund ranges for more than 25 years at Schroders, Cazenove Capital, Gartmore, and Insight Investments.
As a result of this change, portfolio managers Sacha Chorley and Ian Jensen-Humphreys will depart the business following 15 and six years at Quilter respectively.
Quilter is also strengthening its investment oversight with the creation of a portfolio management committee, bringing together investment and operations expertise from across Quilter, including from its market-leading WealthSelect Managed Portfolio Service team. This will result in Cirilium being more aligned to the strong performance of WealthSelect over the long-term.
Brookes joined Quilter Investors as chief investment officer in May 2022 from Schroders Personal Wealth, where he held the same role.
Quilter has commenced the process to hire a permanent portfolio management team for Cirilium.
Marcus Brookes, chief investment officer at Quilter Investors, said: “We have made significant progress in strengthening our investment process over the past five years, but we recognise that the longer-term performance of the Cirilium Active range has not been where we or our customers expect it to be. We take the Assessment of Value process seriously and, where improvement is needed, we will take the action. We believe these changes are the right step to strengthen the range and improve outcomes for customers.
"As we recruit for a new team for the range, I am looking forward to returning to portfolio management in the interim and using the skills and experience I have gathered over the years, alongside CJ Cowan, to help improve performance and deliver positive outcomes for clients.
“We would like to thank Sacha and Ian for their contributions over the years and wish them well in the future.”
