Ian Jensen-Humphreys and Sacha Chorley are extending their portfolio management responsibilities at Quilter Investors to manage the flagship £7bn Cirilium Active portfolio range. The pair already run the successful Cirilium Blend portfolios.
Ian and Sacha have built a strong track record since launching the Cirilium Blend range in 2019 through market cycles. The multi-asset fund range has delivered first or second quartile performance relative to its IA sector comparators over the past one and three years and since inception in July 2019. In particular the performance has been strong in this year’s volatile environment, as a result of the managers’ focus on downside mitigation.
Now overseeing the Cirilium Active and Passive portfolios, Ian and Sacha will bring consistency in terms of selection, process and accountability to the Cirilium range across all risk levels, whether selecting active, blend or passive.
Paul Craig has recently taken the decision to pursue his career outside Quilter Investors, but will stay with the business until Q2 2023 to allow for a smooth transition.
Co-manager Hinesh Patel and Danny Knight, head of investment proposition, who moved to Quilter Investors from Janus Henderson in 2014 following the acquisition of Cirilium, have also decided the time is right for them to pursue new opportunities outside Quilter Investors.
Quilter Investors has also announced it is enhancing its fund manager research with an extended manager research hub. The hub is 13-strong formed of three teams: an extended Manager Selection team; an enhanced Operational Due Diligence team and its existing Responsible Investing team.
Quilter Investors is hiring Given Chanetsa-Mazarura as head of operational due diligence, starting in January 2023. This follows the recent appointment of Marisol Hernandez in October as Quilter Investors’ new head of responsible investment.
Marcus Brookes, chief investment officer at Quilter Investors, said:
“We’re pleased to be able to extend Ian and Sacha’s remit and investment approach to the Cirilium Active portfolios, which will deliver a consistent experience and single point of accountability across the range. The Cirilium stable is one of the most established multi-asset ranges in the UK, with £12bn invested in the strategy and we’re comitted to delivering for real client needs through predictable and reliable solutions with clear accountability.
“Ian and Sacha have built an excellent track record with the Cirilium Blend range and together with our new manager research hub, I am confident the Cirlium Active range will continue to deliver good long-term investment outcomes for advisers and their clients.
“Our thanks go to Paul Craig who was a pioneer of the risk targeted investment approach and, with Hinesh Patel, delivered exceptional service for customers invested in the range.
“We would like to thank Danny for all his contributions over the years and wish him well in the future.”
