Quilter Cheviot has appointed well-regarded investment manager John Moore to its Edinburgh office, strengthening the firm’s investment capability in Scotland and support for advisers and high net worth clients across the region.
Moore joins Quilter Cheviot as an investment manager following a career spanning more than three decades in discretionary investment management. Most recently, he served as divisional director at RBC Brewin Dolphin, where he worked with independent financial advisers and high net worth clients.
Over the course of his career, Moore has developed extensive expertise in investment and wealth management, as well as portfolio construction. He is a well-respected commentator on investment themes in the media and will help communicate Quilter Cheviot’s capabilities to a wide audience.
Moore will report to Richard Taylor, head of the Edinburgh office at Quilter Cheviot.
Richard Taylor, head of Quilter Cheviot’s Edinburgh office, said: “Bringing someone of John’s calibre and reputation is a real coup for us and we are excited to see what he can achieve here. He brings exceptional depth of investment experience and a strong understanding of the needs of advisers and high net worth clients, built over an extensive career in our industry.
“As we continue to grow our presence in Scotland and support clients with high‑quality, long‑term investment solutions, John is really well placed to add a huge amount to the team.”
Commenting on his appointment, Moore said: "The requirements from high-net-worth clients have evolved significantly in recent years as the external environment has shifted. Quilter Cheviot has been a leading company in developing new and interesting propositions to respond to that demand, and has a strong reputation for delivering high quality investment management and financial planning services in harmony.
"I'm delighted to be joining the business and look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to support clients and advisers in achieving long-term financial goals."
