Quilter today announces a series of planned changes to senior roles within its distribution team, supporting the continued growth of its adviser network and national.

Steve Fryett, managing director of Quilter Financial Planning, will retire in the summer of 2026 after a career in financial services spanning 38 years. Warren Vickers, currently commercial director of Quilter Financial Planning, will succeed Steve as Managing Director and will additionally assume oversight of Quilter’s national advice business, Quilter Financial Advisers.

Reflecting on his decision, Steve Fryett said:

“When Steve Gazard asked me to return to Quilter in 2022 it was always for a limited period of time before I would ‘hang up my boots’, which has allowed us to properly plan succession. Over the past few years, we’ve worked hard to get the network back into growth and during this period I’ve had the privilege of working with an incredibly dedicated leadership team and a talented network of advisers who care deeply about delivering great outcomes for clients. Knowing that the business is in such strong hands has made the decision to step back an easy one, and I’m confident that Warren will continue to build on the strong foundations we’ve created.”

Steve Gazard, chief distribution officer at Quilter, commented:

“As a founder of our advice business with a deep understanding of the needs of advisers and clients, Steve’s leadership and commitment have been instrumental in shaping our business. I cannot thank him enough and wish him all the best as he transitions to retirement.

“I’m pleased to confirm that Warren Vickers, who joined us last year as commercial director, will be appointed managing director for Quilter Financial Planning, taking over from Steve when he steps down at the end of the summer. Warren will help us continue to grow and support our adviser network. Steve and Warren will work closely together over the next six months to ensure a smooth transition.”

As part of these changes, Quilter is also enhancing its focus on adviser growth and development. From April, Amanda Cassidy, currently managing director of Quilter Financial Advisers, will take on a new role as managing director of Quilter Academy and adviser development.

Gazard added:

“The continued growth of adviser numbers, and in particular, encouraging the next generation to choose financial advice as a profession, is critical to our long‑term success. Amanda and the team have created an enviable business in Quilter Financial Advisers, and she will now focus her passion and dedication on driving the long‑term success of our advice business. This includes ensuring new entrants are set up for success.
