The Quilter Foundation, the charity of wealth manager Quilter, is pleased to announce a new three-year partnership with two charities, Meals & More and Feeding Britain.

Meals & More is a charity which supports the provision of meals, resources and the opportunity for children to engage in activities during the school holidays across the UK.

Meals & More works alongside local community organisations who run over 320 holiday clubs. It has so far supported over two million meals since 2015. Through this new partnership, The Quilter Foundation’s funding will provide over 106,000 meals to nearly 7,000 children across the country.

In addition, The Quilter Foundation has also formed a three-year partnership with Feeding Britain, a charity which operates a UK-wide network of community food clubs, providing low-cost healthy meals to those at risk of hunger.

It works to alleviate malnutrition whilst also providing additional advice services within its food clubs. Through Feeding Britain’s partnership with The Quilter Foundation, the charity will be able to support seven more community food clubs to ensure children and families have access to affordable, nutritious food as well as advice services.

Quilter colleagues will be directly involved in creating meaningful change through a range of volunteering opportunities for both charities, which will include supporting food deliveries as well as helping out at local holiday clubs in a number of different regions.

Through these partnerships, The Quilter Foundation hopes to reduce child hunger across the UK, so that future generations have the basic provisions to thrive and unlock their full potential.

To celebrate the new partnerships, representatives from both charities joined Quilter employees for a Christmas light switch on event at Quilter House in Southampton city centre on the 28th November.

The Quilter Foundation supports many thousands of young people who face a multitude of challenges. Through its funding it also supports MyBnk, the financial education charity, and social mobility charity, The Brokerage.

Steven Levin, chief executive officer of Quilter, said: "As a business dedicated to building brighter financial futures, we recognise that a child’s future starts with the basics – having enough to eat. We are committed to addressing an issue that touches the lives of many, as food insecurity continues to impact children and families across the UK. I am delighted that The Quilter Foundation is partnering with two incredible charities, Meals & More and Feeding Britain. These charities are making a tremendous impact on the ground, ensuring that every child not only has access to nutritious food, but also has the chance to thrive and grow. Together, we’re addressing the immediate challenge of child hunger, while giving the next generation a strong foundation to reach their full potential.”

Richard Cooper, chair of trustees of Meals & More, said: “We are extremely pleased to have The Quilter Foundation join and support us on our journey. This is an amazing opportunity for both organisations to ensure more children are supported, not only to alleviate hunger during the holiday periods, but to promote well-being and reduce isolation through encouraging social interaction within communities.”

Andrew Forsey OBE, national director of Feeding Britain, added: “By developing a network of food clubs, we are helping to make nutritious food and other essential goods more affordable and accessible for people who face the greatest risk of being hungry. Our partnership with The Quilter Foundation will strengthen this network, especially in communities where the need for food clubs is becoming most acute, and we could not be more grateful for their generous support.”
